He has the training and expertise to perform complex reconstructive surgery and customized cosmetic procedures with remarkably natural-looking results.

Why Choose Dr. Cash for Earlobe Repair?

Deciding who will perform your surgery is a paramount part of the process. Always look for an experienced, board-certified plastic surgeon who listens and whose results demonstrate a flexible and customized approach.

A skilled surgeon will tailor the details of each cosmetic procedure to your unique needs and desires. As the best cosmetic surgeon in Nashville, Dr. Cash will spend time with you to understand the results you hope to achieve. He’ll explain what you should realistically expect, plus the risks and costs. He equips his patients with the knowledge they need to confidently make decisions, always treating everyone with respect and attention.

Why Might I Consider the Best Earlobe Repair in Nashville?

You may wish to consider earlobe repair surgery with Dr. Cash if your concerns include:

  • Ears stretched to unattractive proportions from wearing heavy earrings
  • Enlarged holes from gauges
  • A notched or separated earlobe due to damage from a tear
  • Asymmetrical, overly large, or low-hanging ears due to genetics or aging

What Does This Surgery Entail?

Earlobe repair and earlobe reduction are outpatient surgeries performed using local or general anesthesia. Dr. Cash can use different techniques depending on your unique surgical plan.

  • For most earlobe repair procedures, Dr. Cash cuts the skin lining the tear or stretched hole and sutures the lobe back together. (When a tear extends through the edge of the lobe, you will need to wait until it heals before Dr. Cash can repair it.)
  • For earlobe reduction, or for repairing stretched skin, Dr. Cash makes an incision through the lobe and removes excess tissue. He then pulls the remaining tissue together into an attractive shape and uses sutures to reconnect the skin in layers.

Earlobe surgery typically takes 15 to 45 minutes, sometimes longer for extensive earlobe reshaping. When Dr. Cash finishes your procedure, you can go home. Unless you’ve had general anesthesia, you can drive yourself.

After earlobe repair or reduction surgery, you may experience some discomfort for the first day or two, which you can manage with over-the-counter pain medication. Most patients can return to work the same day or the day afterward.

Dr. Cash will provide you with detailed instructions for self-care in recovery, when to see him for a follow-up appointment, and how to reach him with any concerns. You can resume light activities in a few days and more strenuous activities after about four weeks.

If you choose to pierce your ears again, you can do that about two months after your surgery. Dr. Cash will advise you to get the new piercings placed at least 3 mm away from the original holes and the site of your surgery.
